DUPLICATION vs. REPLICATION:

Duplication is a great way to make high-quality copies of your CD master in smaller quantities. Here at Uni-Sette, we use the finest quality CD-R media in our duplicating lines. We offer several on-disc printing options, as well as type-setting and design. Duplication is the perfect choice for your short-run (100 or less) projects. The turnaround is prompt, and we can provide many options to give your project a professional look with cost effective pricing. Contact one of our representatives to learn more about on-disc printing, colored CD-Rs, graphic/printing soloutions and packaging options.

Replication is the common term used for manufacturing CDs. With larger orders, replication is the way to go. Cost per CD drops dramatically in relation to quantity. Though there are many one-time fees involved in CD replication such as glass mastering, film, proofs, shipping, color-matching and other set-up charges, the cost of making the CD itself is relatively inexpensive. Packaging and printing options are virtually limitless. If you've got an idea, we can make it happen!

AUDIO vs. DATA GRADE CDRs:

The basic difference between professional and consumer grade CDRs lies in the recording dyes. Data grade CDRs use a cyanine dye with an estimated storage life of approximately 40 to 60 years (varying depending on manufacturer).
Cyanine dye CDRs represent the majority of the products on the market today, as they are the most cost efficient. The dye is blue in color. When combined with gold, the CDR appears green on the recording surface. For silver CDRs, the surface retains the blue appearance of the cyanine dye. These cost effective CDRs are perfect for data, computer backup, short-term longevity. However, we recommend a higher grade CDR for audio recordings and masters.
Audio and professional grade CDRs use a phythalocyanine dye, yeilding a data storage lifetime of over 100 years. Phythalocyanine burns more accurately and faster than other dyes, which allows for the highest fidelity in retransmission of information. This dye is transparent in color, and has a longer life span because it offers more UV protection than standard cyanine dye CDRs. For audio, video and digital archiving, we always recommend Mitsui professional grade silver CDRs. With it's patented phythalocyanine dye layer, Mitsui CDRs are considered to be the best on the market. They are the only company to control %100 of thier manufacturing chain, ensuring quality throughout the production process.
